Multiple Intelligence in the Classroom
Multiple Intelligences:
After I took the quiz to find out what intelligences I most strongly scored in it didn’t surprise me. I scored high in kinesthetic, naturalistic, and intrapersonal. I feel that intrapersonal intelligence fits the beset with my learning style. The characteristics for intrapersonal intelligence are feeling passionate about one’s, thoughts, beliefs, and morals. Also, knowing how one’s thought process works is another core characteristic of intrapersonal learners.
In the classroom setting students that have intrapersonal intelligence react strongly to subjects they feel passionate about, relate to others, set realistic goals, and fairness is very important to them.
In the classroom I would try to choose topics that were topics that students could feel passionately about and would have strong reactions to. Also, giving opportunity for the students to express their feelings about topics being discussed. All of these things would help intrapersonal intelligence learners in the classroom and engage them in learning.
Activities that are helpful for intrapersonal students in the classroom are journals, surveys, class discussion, and self-assessments. All of these things allow for students to express their feelings about topics discussed in and outside the classroom.
